This and That

Another book blogs are making buzz in the publishing world article another one without mention of your truly! When is the world going to wake up and see the brilliance that is Collected Miscellany? I put valuable minutes of my day (well, most days) posting whatever scatter shot reactions I have about the books and articles I am reading and what do I get for it? Nothing. OK, I get a few free books and a couple hundred readers (who I adore) and a trickle of advertising now and again, but would it kill to get a mention in the paper? (the above is sarcasm BTW)

Speaking of buzz. Have you heard about this Bookner thing? Here is the front page welcome text:

Book deal by book deal, Bookner is reforming the publishing industry. Thanks to our unique system, whereby raw manuscripts are peer-reviewed and given a weighted Bookner Rating, we are helping talented writers get contracts with major publishing houses, and allowing overworked literary agents to focus on their core function.

I haven’t had a chance to dig into it much but it looks interesting. any writers or publishers out there have a strong opinion?
