Define "Notable"

| | Comments (0) Share

Alas and alack, dear readers. It appears that I am not in tune with the authoritative New York Times when it comes to what books to read in 2005. Here is the Grey Lady's list of 100 Notable Books of the Year.

Having perused the list I find I have read exactly one book on this list and that is Harry Potter! I do plan on reading Walter Kirn's Mission To America in the next week or two. So that would give me two books out of a hundred.

So if you are looking for heated discussion and not news about the books everyone (or at least the NYT) is talking about then I am afraid this website isn't likely to help. Apparently, I am very much out of the loop.

In the grand tradition of bloggers everywhere, however, I will put up my own list of favorites toward the end of the year.
