75 in 2006

I don’t think I have mentioned this but I have joined with Ed in attempting to read 75 books in 2006. Seeing how I read 73 books last year I figured I could read two more books without too much trouble. Good to have goals, no? I am off to a good start having read 8 books in January. If I keep up that pace I will have read 96 books by the end of the year!

If you want to keep a running tab on my quest, here is where I will record the list. I try and review the vast majority of the books I read, but there will be some books on the list of 75 that don’t get full fledged reviews. It is worth noting that the one or two sentence descriptions of the books on that list are usually just hastily written impressions so don’t take them too seriously. My initial reaction might not exactly match the opinion I outline in a fuller review.

What say you? How many books do you read a year? Do you set a goal? What type of books do you read? Big and heavy? Light and fluffy? A mix? I would love to hear about the reading habits of my visitors.

  1. Last year I read 46 books. This year my goal is 60. I read a mixture – fiction, nonfiction, mystery, romance, educational, etc. I have over 200 books on my owned-but-not-read-yet list, so I usually just pick whatever I’m in the mood for at the time.

Best of luck with reaching your goal this year. I think it helps to have a number to shoot for.

By the way, I’ve been “lurking” on your blog for at least a year now, and I really enjoy it. :)

  2. Hello from another lurker. I wish I could set a lofty goal like that but between book club and life in general I’m down to about 3 a month.

My content goal is to actually read some romance, maybe even a cheesy one. Seems like a huge market and I really need to find out why.

    Good luck from the Villains!
