I had student tickets to Ohio State football for eight years, starting the year after Kent State. I saw Woody debating students on the Oval or on a sidewalk a couple of times. I knew some students who were on the opposite side of the debate from Woody, but just as big fans as I was.

The thing I remember most was that I heard lots of stories about the protests and building seizures that had happened the previous few years, and saw evidence of them. But nothing like that happened all the time I was there. I concluded that a Napoleonic whiff of grapeshot was still effective.
