What is this Evening with Authors, you ask. Answer:
At Thurber House‘s Evenings with Authors events, nationally-known writers read and discuss their most recent books. Past authors include: Michael Connelly, Lisa Scottoline, Lee Child, Adriana Trigiani, among many others. Each author gives a 45-minute reading, followed by a 15-minute question-and-answer period. A book signing and reception close the event.
All events begin at 7:30. Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for students in advance, and can be purchased online at www.thurberhouse.org. Additionally, full-series and mini-series of tickets are available.
Who is Chris Pavone?
Chris Pavone worked at a number of publishing houses for two decades before writing his debut novel, The Expats. Published in early 2012, the book received critical acclaim and soon became a New York Times bestseller. Now, The Expats has been published in 15 languages on five continents, and is being developed for film.
The book tells the story of Kate Moore, a working mother who struggles to make ends meet and to hide a massive secret from her family and friends. When her husband takes a job in Luxembourg, Kate decides to leave her old double life behind and reinvent herself as an expat. Soon, she learns that another American couple she has met in Luxembourg is not who they say they are – and she begins to unravel the layers of deception surrounding her life.
