No more changes for six months, I swear …

I, Kevin Jay Holtsberry, do solemnly swear not to mess with the theme on this website for a period of six months under pain of accepted mocking and derision … UPDATE: OK, I lied, Sue Me. Actually, feel free to mock and deride. But after a little further thought I thin this theme works best for the foreseeable future. Seriously, I am going to stop messing with things. I am at heart a restless soul and so when bored tend to muck about. But I did want to get to a somewhat minimalistic...

The only constant is change, right?

Yes, I am once again messing with the template and design on this site. There are probably few people who actually care given the percentage of people who surf here from Google searches. But if you need an explanation, I am looking to blog here more regularly and use WordPress post formats to combine traditional blog elements with Tumblr like photos, videos and audio. Thanks for stopping by no matter how or why you did so ...

February blogapolooza cancelled for lack of interest

Yes, you read that right. My “blog everyday in February ” masterplan failed. Weakened early by a nasty virus, it has finally collapsed because I just don’t want to do it.  I think I will lose my blogger card or something but it is the blunt truth. I just don’t have something to say everyday and forcing myself to try isn’t cutting it. So here we are,  From now on the site will be what it is: a place where Jeff and I occasionally post our thoughts about books we...

February blog-a-thon undermined by stomach virus

That was quick. My goal of posting every day in February was cut short a mere four days in thanks to nasty bug that knocked me out for the last 18 hours. TMI, perhaps. Such is the cruel nature of life however. Nothing to do but get up, pull yourself together and carry on. Content will resume when I am able to sit upright long enough to write a review. In the mean time, let me leave you with this lovely graphic.

February is hereby declared blog every day month

Let’s face it, this blog hasn’t exactly been lighting it up lately.  What was once an active and engaging lit blog (is that still a term?) is now a place where occasional reviews are posted.  Now, some of you fine people still enjoy the occasional reviews that are posted here. You appreciate the quirky and eclectic taste of the writers.  And thank you for that. I have apologized and promised to do better but without a great deal of success. So, I have decided to saddle up and...

New Year's Resolution: write more consistently

I know what you are thinking? We have heard this all before.  Kevin is always promising to write more and focus more, etc., etc.  Guilty as charged but what is the new year for if not to turn over a new leaf and other clichés? So. I figure if I am going to have a blog I should probably go ahead and post to it. And it isn’t like I have stopped reading books.  A little discipline and focus and, boom, a more active and engaging book blog. I have a number of reviews I need to finish and I...
